I love the curriculum. When I joined Group I was so excited to rush through the Steps and get through the material so that I could be done with recovery. Now that I understand recovery I accept the healing that takes place as I slowly work a Step for several days. The curriculum helped me to accept that patience is the key to recovery. The curriculum helped me to focus on understanding my past behaviors and the changes that I need to make.
The SAL 12-Step Curriculum has become the vehicle for my on-going recovery from betrayal trauma. I have been working the Steps for several years now, and I can see a marked difference since I began using the curriculum. When I am more consistent in my Step work I see the gifts of the program more consistently in all aspects of my life. The curriculum has made working my Steps so easy—a natural part of my daily routine that puts God at my center, no matter what challenges I am currently facing.
I’d been trying to work on recovery with my husband since 2008. I supported him and was there when he needed to talk. But until I found SAL and began working on my own recovery from the trauma and pain the addiction caused, I was fighting a battle I was never going to win. SA Lifeline has helped me find real recovery.
